For more than two thousand years, olive oil from Istria has travelled across the Adriatic as a symbol of Mediterranean culture, endurance and excellence.

During the Roman Empire, the western coast of Istria became an important center of olive cultivation and maritime trade. Large agricultural estates produced olive oil that was transported in amphorae throughout the Empire, from the Adriatic to distant Roman provinces. Archaeologists have discovered countless fragments of these amphorae marked with producers’ stamps — early symbols of origin, craftsmanship and reputation.
But olive oil in the ancient world represented far more than commerce.
Victorious athletes were honoured with olive branches and precious amphorae of oil in recognition of their discipline, sacrifice and achievement. Olive oil symbolized strength, vitality and the reward earned through perseverance.
This connection between endurance and olive oil continues to inspire our philosophy today.

Our groves are located in northern Istria, where olive trees grow in demanding conditions shaped by limestone-rich karst soil, strong Bora winds and colder winters than most Mediterranean regions. Here, growth is slower, harvests are never guaranteed, and every bottle reflects the resilience of both nature and those who cultivate it.
At the heart of our production is Bianchera, an indigenous Istrian variety renowned for its structure, freshness and naturally high polyphenol content. Alongside our monocultivar expression, we also create carefully balanced blends that preserve the distinctive character of the region while offering harmony and elegance.
